2014 – Upper Midwest Emmy WIN! (09-13-2014)

Best Musical Composition / Arrangement
“Olympic Dreams” – “somewhere Out There”
Sung by the awesome Holly Mae Heinrich (Holly Henry)
Arranged by the talented Karl Demer
Produced by Erik Candiani

Very proud of this win. I came up with the idea on a whim and had no idea if I could actually pull it off.

I contacted Universal for rights to James Horner’s classic song from the Steven Spielberg-produced “An American Tail”… and then reached out to Holly who had recently been a finalist on NBC’s “The Voice”.

They agreed, she agreed… and we recorded it at Karl’s studio in Minneapolis. My daughter, Lexi, was able to skip school and be a part of the experience.
